SpiceJet: 92% of employees will receive partial salary payments for Apr-2020

1 May, 2020

SpiceJet announced plans to "pay part salaries to over 92% of its employees" for Apr-2020, due to "these extremely challenging times when no passenger flights have operated for over a month resulting in our primary revenue source drying up completely" (Asian Age/The Hindu BusinessLine/Live Mint/Financial Express, 30-Apr-2020). The LCC stated "employees will be paid according to the work hours contributed" for Apr-2020 and confirmed "SpiceJet has decided that there would be no job cuts at the airline at this time". As previously reported by CAPA, operation of scheduled domestic and international passenger services has been prohibited in India since 25-Mar-2020.
