Southwest Airlines: Mexico is 'off trend', delivers 'weak' revenue during 2018

30 October, 2018

Southwest Airlines chairman and CEO Gary C Kelly said the airline is not planning to make any cuts in capacity to Mexico, despite "weak" revenue during 2018 (Seeking Alpha, 25-Oct-2018). He noted Mexico is "off trend", adding he believes the rest of the industry is also reporting the same issue. Mr Kelly remarked he is a "believer in Mexico" and says there has been "really strong demand" for the country from leisure passengers up until 2018. According to OAG, Southwest operates to Cancun, Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta Ordaz.
