27 April, 2018

Southwest Airlines EVP and chief revenue officer Andrew Watterson, speaking on CAPA TV, stated (Apr-2018) the carrier is undergoing the FAA ETOPS authorisation process "right now", which will take it through the "bulk" of 2018. The carrier aims to open bookings to Hawaii by the end of 2018 but "we're not sure when the first flight will be". Mr Watterson said the launch is dependent upon the FAA process, noting "it really depends on that process". [more - CAPA TV]
