Qantas’ share price over the last five days has remained relatively stable, now measuring at AUD6.66 per share.
On 02-Aug-2018, Qantas reported AllianceBernstein Australia Limited (ABAL) ceased to be a considered a ‘substantial holder’ in the carrier, effective 31-Jul 2018. The ownership change follows the sale of 558,014 shares for a total consideration of AUD3.8 million.
Following publication of strong financial results for FY2018 and retaining a positive FY2019, Alliance Airlines saw its share price jump from AUD1.91 to AUD2.38 in the space of just seven days, from 03-Aug-2018 to 10-Aug-2018.
The company declared a fully franked final dividend of AUD 6.3 cents per ordinary share, bringing the total declared dividend for FY2018 to AUD 8.8 cents (USD 6.41 cents) per ordinary share, the highest payout in the carrier’s history.
Alliance also noted opportunity exists to increase charter revenue, with a focus on inbound and domestic tourism operators as a result of additional aircraft in FY2019 and a general increase in charter activity.
