Virgin Australia announced (30-Jan-2018) Nang Qi will step down from his role as a non executive director effective immediately. Mr Nang will be succeeded as HNA Group’s nominated representative on the Virgin Australia board by Ahang Kui, the joint chairman of Hong Kong Airlines. Chen Mingqiong, who was an alternative director for Mr Nang, will cease to be an alternative, effective immediately.
Alliance Aviation Services announced (31-Jan-2018) the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), as well as related corporate entities, has ceased to be a substantial shareholder. Since 07-Dec-2017, CBA has sold 750,000 shares in the carrier across six tranches, for a total consideration of AUD1.2 million (USD972,600).

Air New Zealand reported (30-Jan-2018) traffic highlights for Dec-2017:
- Passengers: 1.7 million, +6.1% year-on-year;
- Short-haul: 1.5 million, +7.1%;
- Domestic: 1.1 million, +7.5%;
- Tasman/Pacific: 378,000, +5.7%;
- Long haul: 211,000, -0.3%;
- North America/UK: 123,000, +1.0%;
- Asia/Japan/Singapore: 88,000, -2.0%;
According to CAPA Airline Traffic Database, Air New Zealand achieved its 18th consecutive month of passenger growth in Dec-2017.
