South Korean MOLIT outlines measures to support airlines affected by the novel coronavirus

South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) announced (17-Feb-2020) a series of measures to support the aviation industry in response to the effect of novel coronavirus on travel. Highlights include:

  • Emergency loans of up to KRW300 (USD250 million) for airlines;
  • Temporary fee suspension for unused airport slots;
  • Suspension of payment of airport fees for three months from Mar-2020;
  • Reduction of airport fees from Jun-2020;
