29 September, 2017

Solomon Islands Ministry of Infrastructure Development reportedly signed a MoU with land owners of Parasi Airfield in hopes to resume airport operations (Solomon Star/Radio NZ, 26/28-Sep-2017). The airport has been closed for seven years since 2010 due to dispute between the government and land owners. Ministry of Communication and Aviation Permanent Secretary Moses Virivolomo stated he expects the airport to reopen before the end of 2017 and hopes Solomon Airlines will resume air services to the region.
