SKY Airline expects to become LCC leader in South America over next 10 years: CEO

SKY Airline CEO Holger Paulmann stated he anticipates the LCC will become the low cost leader in South America in the next 10 years, projecting locations in at least four other Spanish-speaking countries besides Chile (Aerotelegraph, 28-Jun-2018). He stated the airline is looking to open a base in another country in 2019 and will either purchase an airline or “start from scratch” upon entry into the new market. Mr Paulmann also stated the carrier considered the Bombardier C Series as a possibility, before choosing the A320neo which offers lower cost per ASM. That cost is “more important to us”, he said.
