Singapore Airlines to deploy first A350 with medium haul cabin to Adelaide

Singapore Airlines announced (06-Sep-2018) Adelaide will be the launch destination for the airline's first A350-900 aircraft to be fitted with new medium haul cabin products. The airline will deploy two class, 303 seat A350-900 equipment on daily Singapore-Adelaide service from 18-Dec-2018, subject to regulatory approval. The new aircraft will increase Adelaide capacity by almost 7%. Brisbane will be the second Australian city to receive the A350-900 with medium haul cabin products, increasing seat capacity by around 5% from 2019, subject to regulatory approval. Cabin features include:

  • 40 Stelia Aerospace business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout. Each seat has direct aisle access and reclines into a 76 inch flat bed. The seats are up to 26 inches wide and feature 17 inch full HD touchscreen monitors, retractable armrests, adjustable dividers in centre seats and a "business panel" with power supply and USB ports;
  • 263 RECARO Aircraft Seating economy class seats in a 3-3-3 layout. The seats feature an 11.6 inch full HD touchscreen monitor, contour backrest, six way adjustable headrest with folding wings, USB port and in seat power supply;
  • Thales AVANT IFE system with a new user interface, content recommendations, ability to bookmark and resume content, ability to customise and save preferences and playlists and additional content choices for business class and KrisFlyer members;
  • Inmarsat GX Aviation broadband connectivity system, offered through SITAONAIR, delivering "high speed" inflight WiFi. [more - original PR]
