Singapore Airlines Group‘s KrisFlyer frequent flyer programme launched (24-Jul-2018) the ‘KrisPay’ digital wallet app, which enables members to convert KrisFlyer miles to KrisPay miles for everyday spending at partner merchants in Singapore. Once transferred, KrisPay miles are valid for six months. The system allows members to use a minimum of 15 KrisPay miles, equivalent to about SGD0.10 (USD0.07), to pay either partially or in full. KrisPay is initially accepted at 18 merchants, with more to be added progressively. The carrier said KrisPay is the world’s first blockchain based airline loyalty digital wallet. The app was developed in collaboration with KPMG Digital Village and Microsoft. The app is available for Apple and Google devices. [more – original PR]
