Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) chairman Jay Bartlett highlighted (04-Jul-2018) transportation infrastructure, along with energy and communication, as “fundamental areas to redirect the country’s economy to improve the investment climate so businesses can grow to benefit the community”. Mr Bartlett has welcomed recent significant infrastructure developments introduced by the Solomon Islands Government, was well as recent commitments from the Japan International Cooperation Agency to upgrade Honiara International Airport which “will improve efficiency in mobility and drastically give a much-needed facelift to our capital city”.
