Singapore Airlines (SIA) extended (05-Oct-2018) its partnership with Destination New South Wales (NSW) in Australia under a new two year MoU, effective 01-Jul-2019. Under the agreement, the two parties will jointly develop and promote activities that encourage travellers to visit the New South Wales region through SIA’s services to Sydney. The parties have agreed to jointly fund advertising and marketing campaigns, as well as familiarisation programmes for trade and media representatives, among other initiatives. SIA SVP customer experience Yeoh Phee Teik said the agreement reflects SIA’s longstanding commitment to Australia, stating: “For more than 50 years we have invested in, and grown our operations to, New South Wales and now operate five daily flights between Singapore and Sydney”. The agreement is also expected to develop tourism in regional NSW, while visitors from Singapore are worth AUD245 million (USD173 million) to the NSW economy.
