SaudiGulf Airlines to commence Riyadh-Dubai service; set to acquire Boeing widebodies

    SaudiGulf Airlines confirmed (26-Feb-2018) plans to commence twice daily RiyadhDubai service on 01-Mar-2018. Dubai will be the airline’s first international destination. The carrier will operate the service with A320 equipment configured with 16 ‘BusinessFirst’ class seats and 120 economy class seats, featuring leather seats, IFE, WiFi, complimentary hot meals, free seat selection and a dedicated chauffeur service in Riyadh. [more – original PR] The airline’s CCO Karim Makhlouf said the airline is in talks with Boeing to acquire 777-200, 777-300, 787-9 or 787-10 aircraft (Reuters, 27-Feb-2018). The aircraft would be delivered within three to four years. Mr Makhlouf commented: “We are in good talks with Boeing“. As previously reported by CAPA, the airline signed an agreement with Boeing in May-2017 to negotiate the sale of up to 16 widebody aircraft.
