SAS would transfer Tokyo service to Haneda if slots were granted, launch Stockholm-Tokyo Narita

27 April, 2018

SAS Group CEO Richard Gustafson said that if the carrier could acquire slots at Tokyo Haneda Airport then current daily Copenhagen-Tokyo Narita service will be transferred to Copenhagen-Tokyo Haneda (Travel Vision, 24-Apr-2018). Additionally, the carrier will launch daily Stockholm-Tokyo Narita service during summer, with reduced frequency in winter. SAS reported load factor on Copenhagen-Tokyo Narita averages 90%. Mr Gustafson also said the priority is to introduce A350-900 aircraft, which the carrier is scheduled to receive from late 2019, on Copenhagen-Tokyo Narita service, replacing the A340-300. Stockholm-Tokyo Narita, when launched, would operate with A330-300 aircraft.
