SAS launches 'New Nordic' onboard sustainable food packaging concept

SAS commenced (21-Nov-2019) 'New Nordic by SAS' food packaging concept, saving up to 51 tons of plastics p/a. The concept includes Forest Stewardship Council approved paper with a plastic coating, made from organic plant based plastic, replacing oil based plastic. SAS is optimising meal kits to include plant based plastic cutlery wrapped in paper napkins from recycled material when required, with wet wipes offered upon request.
