SAS CEO: Carrier needs A319 and Boeing 737-700 replacement 'to avoid shrinking the operation'

3 March, 2020

SAS CEO Rickard Gustafson reported the carrier is looking to replace its fleet of A319 and Boeing 737-700 aircraft (Simple Flying, 28-Feb-2020). Mr Gustafson said the A220 and Embraer E2 are options, but "both still have engine issues to resolve before we feel that they can operate with the robustness we anticipate and expect". However the carrier "need to have a replacement up and running to avoid shrinking the operation and leaving regions unserved".
