Samoa's Minister of Finance Sili Epa Tuioti requested USD9.6 million in additional funding for FY2017/2018, with a portion to be used for tax and duty rebates for Virgin Australia, following the winding up of its Virgin Samoa JV earlier in 2017 (Radio New Zealand, 21-Dec-2017). More than half of the additional funding will go towards the tax and duty rebates.
