Ryanair outlines new environmental policy, aims to be plastic free in five years

    Ryanair outlined (04-Nov-2019) its new environmental policy adopted at the airline’s AGM in Sep-2019. The policy commits to:

    • Becoming plastic free in five years;
    • Reducing noise emissions by up to 40% per seat;
    • Reducing CO2 emissions by a further 10% by 2030 (up to 50% less than other major EU airlines);
    • Encouraging passengers to use the airlines voluntary carbon offset programme;
    • Working with environmental partners to improve the environment in Europe.

    As previously reported by CAPA, Ryanair has also pledged to become Europe’s “cleanest, greenest” airline.
