Ryanair Group CEO: UK guidance on check in baggage 'rubbish', urges UK DfT to remove quarantine

12 June, 2020

Ryanair Group CEO Michael O'Leary, responding to UK travel guidance on coronavirus advising passengers to check in their luggage, urged passengers to do "exactly the opposite" and "maximise carry-on bags and minimise checked-in bags" (Reuters/ukaviation.news/Belfast Telegraph, 11/12-Jun-2020). Mr O'Leary said passengers are "held to ransom" with the guidance and urged the UK Department for Transport (DfT) to stop issuing advice to passengers about hand baggage and instead focus efforts on scrapping the visitor quarantine.
