Ryanair cuts Glasgow routes as Edinburgh becomes southern belt focus

    Ryanair announced (27-Feb-2018) plans to close its Glasgow International Airport base in Nov-2018. Ryanair chief commercial officer commented: “Ryanair regrets these cuts in the weaker Glasgow market where efforts to stimulate low fare demand are severely hampered by the continuing burden of APD [air passenger duty]. As a result, we will transfer our Glasgow International based aircraft to Edinburgh in November”. Its 2018/2019 winter schedule from Edinburgh Airport includes:
