Rwanda's Ministry of Infrastructure, via its official Twitter account, announced (23-Nov-2017) Rwanda and Cape Verde signed a bilateral air service agreement. Minister of State for Transport Jean de Dieu Uwihanganye said: "This is expected to open more potential market opportunities for RwandAir and Rwanda's private sector, providing more economic momentum for the local and other African economies" (The New Times, 24-Nov-2017). Rwanda is also expected to sign an air service agreement with Nigeria in the coming weeks, facilitating the launch of RwandAir service to Abuja in Jan-2018, subject to approval by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. Rwanda has bilateral air service agreements with 60 countries, including 24 in Africa.
