Brazil's Secretary of Civil Aviation Ronei Glanzmann commented on Inframerica's request to return the concession of Natal Aluízio Alves International Airport, noting the request raised red flags in with Government officials regarding Rio de Janeiro Galeão International Airport's concession (Valor, 06-Mar-2020). Mr Glanzmann stated: "Rio de Janeiro Galeao is the one which worries us the most". The airport will reportedly have to pay BRL1 billion (USD220 million) annual concession fee in 2023 and is possible it will not raise enough to pay. The Government is considering the possibility that the asset will have to be retendered in 2023.
