Rex to reduce Mt Gambier-Adelaide frequency

16 May, 2018

Regional Express (Rex) announced (16-May-2018) it will reduce Mt Gambier-Adelaide frequency from 41 to 36 times weekly until further notice. The carrier stated the reductions are a "bid to better utilise scarce resources amid a global pilot shortage causing widespread disruption across all levels of the aviation industry". On 14-May-2018, the carrier responded to a media article that included criticisms of its fares and ontime performance by local officials and commercial representatives, stating these criticisms were "unfounded, unjustified and unfair." With the reduced capacity, Rex will operate approximately 61,000 seats p/a on the route. [more - original PR]
