Rex signs deals to offer 'Community Fares' on routes from Perth to Carnarvon and Monkey Mia

26 June, 2018

Regional Express (Rex) announced (26-Jun-2018) five year partnership agreements with the Shire of Carnarvon and RAC, the owners of Carnarvon Airport and Shark Bay Airport, to provide its 'Community Fare' scheme through until 30-Jun-2023. The carrier will offer AUD199 (USD147) fares from Carnarvon and AUD157 (USD116) fares from Monkey Mia on 25% of seats on its Perth-Carnarvon and Perth-Monkey Mia routes for advanced bookings of at least 60 days prior to departure. In addition, all remaining seats one day prior to departure will be available at the 'Community Fare (Rex Promo)' level. In Feb-2018, the Western Australian Government awarded Rex the sole right to operate these Regular Public Transport (RPT) routes for a five year period, commencing 02-Jul-2018. Rex will operate 24 times weekly on Perth-Carnarvon and 12 times weekly on Perth-Monkey Mia. This is a 20% increase in frequency for Carnarvon and a 50% increase for Monkey Mia, in comparison to the existing RPT operation. [more - original PR]
