REAL Tonga Airline confirmed (17-Jan-2018) it plans to launch operations between Tonga and Samoa commencing 12-Feb-2018, operating twice weekly. The airline is completing final licence requirements in Samoa. All flights are to be operated from Fua'amotu Domestic Airport to Faleolo International Airport, via Vava'u International Airport with 30 seat SAAB 340 aircraft. The carrier reported it has been "over a decade since there was any significant commercial capacity between the two Polynesian nations".
