Queenstown Airport to receive no scheduled domestic services after 03-Apr-2020

Queenstown Airport reported (02-Apr-2020) while New Zealand is at 'Alert Level 4', Queenstown Airport is supporting the transport of people undertaking essential services and the transport of freight. There will be no scheduled domestic services at the airport from 03-Apr-2020, with staff from the airport company, border agencies, aviation security and Air New Zealand will be on standby to manage any ad hoc flights. All non operationally essential staff continue to work from home. Access to the airport's terminal building is restricted to essential staff and travellers. The airport's international terminal is closed until trans Tasman operations resume and its Park and Ride service is suspended. Additional space at the airport has been provided to local police to set up an operations base, assisting them with essential services and social distancing. [more - original PR]
