Queenstown Airport reports operational highlights for H1FY2019

    Queenstown Airport reported (28-Feb-2019) the following operational highlights for H1FY2019:

    • New general aviation (GA) fuel tanks, with Air BP engaging Fulton Hogan to place two new 60,000L fuel tanks, one Avgas and one jet fuel in the centrally located GA precinct;
    • Old underground GA fuel tanks to be removed from under the tarmac near the corporate jets parking area;
    • New F&B Airspresso kiosk in domestic gate lounge airside;
    • Andrew Williamson appointed as new chief financial officer and company secretary;
    • Launched new ‘e-learning’ platform Litmos, with more than 500 of the Queenstown Airport Corporation team and wider airport community having now completed courses in terminal services welcome, biosecurity and aviation security;
    • Second phase of the ceiling works underway and due for completion in Jun-2019;
    • Border Agency Space Management project continues, with stages 2 and 3 completed and stage 4 to commence shortly. Works are due for completion by Apr-2019;
    • Completed NZD7 million (USD4.7 million) project to resurface the aircraft parking area using 1.5 million recycled beer bottles and 330,000 waste printer and toner cartridges;
    • Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow announced a new Carbon Offset initiative as part of its overall sustainability programme.
