Queensland Govt announces funding for Emerald Airport upgrades

Queensland's Government announced (05-Mar-2019) up to AUD1.5 million (USD1.1 million) in funding to upgrade Emerald Airport, with funds drawn from the AUD295 million (USD209 million) 'Building our Regions' (BoR) programme. The Emerald Airport project includes upgrades to the general aviation area, involving reconstructing the general and eastern aviation apron, and the refuelling area, in addition to widening the taxiway apron. Total investment for the airport upgrade is AUD3 million (USD2.1 million) with AUD1.5 million funded via BoR and Central Highlands Regional Council contributing AUD103,615 (USD73,000).
