Qantas notes need to invest in engineering, education of the engineers of the future

Qantas chairman Leigh Clifford noted the need to invest in engineering and the education of the engineers of the future (AFR, 28-Nov-2017). Mr Clifford noted the speed of technological change in recent decades, while noting: "Australia faces major challenges across a range of industries, including manufacturing, infrastructure and energy. We need to prepare our young people for the jobs of the future". He added: "Increasingly manufacturing in Australia will involve greater intellectual input and less muscle power, and engineering will play a key role in this transformation".
