28 March, 2018

Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce confirmed the carrier is considering opening routes from Brisbane to Seattle, Dallas or Chicago, once it expands its Boeing 787-9 fleet based in the city (Bloomberg, 28-Mar-2018). Mr Joyce said the airline will add more US routes before it looks at adding new nonstop European destinations from Perth. As previously reported by CAPA, Qantas International CEO Alison Webster confirmed on 24-Mar-2018 that the airline is considering nonstop Perth-Paris service, although no new service will be added until the profitability of Perth-London is reviewed. Mr Joyce also stated that the airline could operate to German cites such as Berlin or Frankfurt.
