Qantas, in a submission to the US Department of Transportation (US DoT), applied (29-Oct-2018) for a blanket statement of authorisation to display the 'WS' code of WestJet on services between Australia and the US, commencing 01-Dec-2018. WestJet's new Qantas codeshare service will connect with the carrier's Canada-US service, enabling it to market international service between Canada and Australia. Planned Qantas operated codeshare services include:
- Los Angeles services to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane;
- San Francisco services to Sydney and Melbourne;
