Qantas applies for additional Indonesia capacity

    Qantas submitted (31-Jul-2019) an application to Australia‘s International Air Services Commission (IASC) for extra capacity to Indonesia, effective 14-Dec-2019. The proposed four additional weekly services will be operated with A320-200 equipment for an additional 744 seats per week. Qantas sought the following permissions for the capacity allocation:

    • Allowed to be used another Australian carrier which is a wholly owned Qantas subsidiary, such as Jetstar;
    • Allocation requested for a period of five years from the date of the determination with capacity fully utilised by 31-Dec-2019;
    • Capacity may be used by Qantas to provide joint services with any wholly owned subsidiary and by any wholly owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group to provide joint services with Qantas.
