Qantas Airways doubles Kangaroo Island frequency following 'surprise' Rex exit

6 February, 2020

Qantas announced (07-Feb-2020) plans to more than double Adelaide-Kangaroo Island frequency "following the surprise decision by Regional Express (Rex) to exit the route", effective Jul-2020. Qantas plans to increase the frequency from five to 12 times weekly, operating QantasLink Q300 equipment. The carrier additionally plans to retime the services to allow easy connections through Adelaide for domestic and international tourists from partner airlines. As previously reported by CAPA, Rex reported it will allow for a reasonable period for Qantas to match Rex's 2-3 daily frequencies before suspending Kangaroo Island services. [more - original PR]
