16 December, 2019

Qantas announced (16-Dec-2019) plans to launch seven times weekly Melbourne-Tokyo Haneda service with A330 equipment, effective 29-Mar-2020. The route complements Sydney-Tokyo Haneda service and will replace Melbourne-Tokyo Narita. Qantas is also making improvements for passengers departing from Haneda Airport, with eligible passengers now able to access the Priority Lane at the security checkpoint, as well as Japan Airlines' Sakura Lounge. As previously reported by CAPA, Australia's International Air Services Commission allocated Qantas Airways one daily frequency in each direction operating passenger services on the Japan route to service Tokyo Haneda.
