CAPA: Propping up Alitalia may have slowed Italian aviation market growth

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: 'Italy: Europe's #1 by airline seats - briefly. Alitalia bailout looms', stated (11-May-2020) the current coronavirus crisis presents a major threat to the continued existence of any airline owned or based in Italy at all. The Italian state now plans to renationalise Alitalia, initially taking a 100% stake and setting aside EUR700 million to support the airline.
