Price wars will not solve the loss of confidence in travel after coronavirus

    CAPA – Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: ‘Ryanair‘s O’Leary: price war to revive air traffic. What about fear?’, stated (19-Apr-2020) the perception of reasonable safety of air travel has changed due to COVID-19. It now includes the fear of infection by coronavirus, or other diseases. While low fares could mitigate the impact of economic weakness on aviation demand, it will not solve the loss of confidence in travel as has been argued by Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary.
