Port Macquarie Airport completes terminal upgrades

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council announced (19-Nov-2019) the completion of Port Macquarie Airport's Terminal Building after 13 months of construction. Upgrades include:

  • Extended floor area to double the size of the existing airport terminal;
  • Air conditioned arrivals and departures area;
  • New check in area with provision for nine desks;
  • New departure lounge to cater up to 300 people, new arrivals area with baggage reclaim carousel and new retail facilities including rental car desks;
  • Heading loop availability;
  • Additional ablution facilities;
  • New café space with commercial cooking facilities;
  • A new 'back of house' operations and office space for airlines to function more efficiently, as well as improved security monitoring and provision of pass back doors;
  • Development of a new reticulated sewer system installed and upgrades to the electrical supply.

The AUD9.8 million (USD6.7 million) upgrade included AUD5 million (USD3.4 million) from the NSW Government and AUD1.2 million (USD818,537) from the Australian Government. [more - original PR]
