Philippine Airlines to work with consultants, address rising costs and consider synergies

Philippine Airlines vice chairman Lucio K Tan said the carrier engaged Lufthansa Consulting and expects results in “probably six to eight months” (bworldonline.com, 05-Aug-2019). Mr Tan said while revenue is increasing, costs are also rising and must be addressed. Mr Tan noted operations have been administration heavy, adding Philippine Airlines could look at synergies or outsourcing. Mr Tan also identified online sales as an area for improvement, noting the carrier’s online sales account for less than 20%.
