23 January, 2020

Peru's Minister of Trade and Tourism Edgar Vasquez stated the country is expecting a 10% year-on-year increase in international arrivals in 2020, driven by the country's stability (Hosteltur, 22-Jan-2020). Mr Vasquez stated: "The tourist is always seeking places where they can enjoy tranquillity and safety" and Peru "is a stable country and I believe it will be a very important differential for Peru in the region". Tourism was Peru's third major export in 2019, raising around USD5.3 billion in revenue.
