Perth to host global tourism trade event in 2019

    Western Australia (WA) State Government, through Tourism WA, announced (19-Apr-2018) the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) tourism trade event will be held in Perth in Apr-2019. ATE is Australia’s largest annual tourism trade event, with around 3000 delegates, tourism businesses, wholesalers and retailers expected to attend. ATE is organised by Tourism Australia, with Tourism WA partnering for the 2019 event. Australia‘s Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the Hon Steven Ciobo MP said Perth was set to benefit from an immediate injection of visitors attending ATE and over the longer term attract more international visitors. Mr Ciobo estimated that  the international travel wholesalers and retailers who attend ATE bring close to three million visitors to Australia p/a with an estimated pre-booked spend of between AUD5.5 billion (USD4.2 billion) and AUD8.5 billion (USD6.6 billion) as well as the on-ground spend in Australia. More than 550 Australian tourism businesses will attend ATE19 and showcase their products and services to over 650 agents who sell Australian holidays internationally.
