Perth Airport committed to reducing noise and community engagement in planning third runway

11 March, 2018

Perth Airport CEO Kevin Brown affirmed the airport's commitment to community engagement and reducing noise pollution in developing a third runway (The West Australian, 12-Mar-2018). Mr Brown added: "It's incredibly important that we listen to the community during this process and that's something that has already begun... We need to understand their [residents] concerns and make sure we can respond as part of a reasoned and constructive discussion". Airservices Australia will also detail changes in noise distribution and flight patterns as part of the community engagement. The proposed AUD520 million (USD408 million) runway is expected to deliver an AUD8 billion (USD6.28 billion) boost to Australia's economy over 20 years.
