Perth Airport announced (15-Jan-2020) China Eastern Airlines launched a Shanghai-Perth trial service, operating A330 equipment, on 15-Jan-2020. Perth Airport CEO Kevin Brown stated: "Chinese visitation to WA has increased by 11.3 per cent to 66,700 visitors, and those visitors spent AUD280 million (USD193 million) in WA. If the trial is successful and leads to the introduction of three weekly services year-round, it could mean an additional AUD40 million (USD27.6 million) in tourism spend for the WA economy".
