Passenger cap increase at Dublin Airport to be discussed by DAA

26 November, 2018

DAA commenced talks with An Bord Pleanála to increase the passenger cap at Dublin Airport by three million annually (independent.ie, 23-Nov-2018). The current cap of 32 million would be reached if the airport sees a 5% spike in passenger numbers for 2019. The airport recorded 29.6 million passengers in 2017 and 1.8 million transit passengers. In 2018 Dublin Airport saw the introduction of services from Hong Kong, Beijing and Seattle, with services to Dallas and Minneapolis-St Paul to be launched in 2019. The DAA will also consider a car park expansion to facilitate the growing numbers.
