France's Paris Prefect Michel Cadot, commenting on the CDG Express rail project, stated: "If Roissy [Paris CDG] wants to remain in the top 10 and continue to enable Paris to be the motor of development of the country, this link is highly desirable" (Le Parisien, 20-Jan-2019). He added works on the entire northern axis of the Parisian rail network, which accounts for 2000 daily trains, are "indispensable" to relieve pressure on the system.
