Papua New Guinea's National Airports Corporation commenced removing ash from runways and taxiways following the eruptions of Mount Ulawun on 26-Jun-2019 and Mount Manam on 28-Jun-2019 (TVNZ, 01-Jul-2019). Air Niugini said it is closely monitoring ongoing volcanic activity and will resume regular scheduled services when safe to do so.
