Pakistan PM confirms no intent to privatise PIA, new business plan to be completed by Mar-2019

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan announced there are no plans for the Government to privatise Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and instead it has "initiated a reform process to overcome losses being incurred by the airline" (APP/Dawn, 06-Feb-2019). The Pakistan Government hosted a meeting to discuss plans for the airline, which was attended by Minister of Finance Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Aviation Mohammad Mian Soomro and PIA CEO Air Marshal (retired) Arshad Mehmood. Mr Mehmood announced a new business plan for the carrier will be completed by the end of Mar-2019.
