Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) chairman and CEO Air Marshal Arshad Mahmood Malik reported the following operational performance details for PIA (Daily Pakistan/History of PIA/Nation, 14/15-Jan-2019):
- PIA recording approximately PKR3 billion (USD21.5 million) in losses per month;
- Six out of 32 aircraft in PIA's fleet generate revenue at present;
- Nine aircraft in working condition have been grounded for the past nine months;
- 18,000 personnel on PIA's payroll;
- Seven routes recording losses.
