NZALPA urges New Zealand lawmakers to increase penalties for laser strikes against aircraft

    New Zealand Air Line Pilots’ Association (NZALPA) president Tim Robinson said the body is urging New Zealand lawmakers to take the threat of laser strikes against commercial aircraft “seriously”, including changing the status of these attacks to ‘Acts of illegal interference’, making them of equivalent seriousness to high jacking and bomb threats (New Zealand Herald, 18-Apr-2018).
