NZ Customs to phase out departure cards from early Nov-2018

New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS) stated (02-Nov-2018) international travellers will no longer be required to complete departure cards when leaving New Zealand, effective 05-Nov-2018. Removal of departure cards is expected to incur travel savings of more than 100,000 hours, with around 6.5 million departure cards completed p/a, and aims to bring "seamless travel between Australia and New Zealand a step closer", NZCS group manager border operations Terry Brown stated.
