Norwegian Air: 'Introducing more taxes is the wrong way to go'

Norwegian Air communications manager Charlotte Holmbergh Jacobsson stated: "It is primarily domestic lines that have had reduced capacity or been closed down" due to additional taxes on air travel, adding "but also long routes to the US have been negatively affected" (Göteborgs-Posten, 26-Sep-2019). Ms Jacobsson said: "Climate impact is one of our biggest global challenges and reducing emissions from aviation and other modes of transport is necessary. But introducing more taxes is the wrong way to go and a tax in itself does not lead to reduced emissions".
